About Us

SHA Founder

The Salmast Heritage Association was officially launched on July 28, 2015 with the mission to introduce Salmast's culture and history to the world.

The Association works collaboratively with UCLA Narekatsi Armenian Studies.

The Executive Committee:

Salmast Heritage Association was formed in honor of Dr. Onnik Hayrapetian, a Salmastsi descendant,  whose dream was to introduce the culture of Salmast to the world through university curriculum, arts, books, and any other way possible.  He dedicated most of his time writing books and articles on Salmast.

After his untimely death on June 17th, 2015, a group of his loyal friends, colleagues, as well as family members including his brother, Mr. Edward Hayrapetian, and son Mr. Sevak Hayrapetian, formed a committee  to accomplish the task in the memory of the late professor.
